"Accord is our party for victory next year"— Governor Adeleke

Abdullahi Oladigbolu
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has announced the Accord Party as his new political platform ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

The announcement was made in a message to the people of Osun State after he emerged as the Accord Party’s flagbearer on December 10, 2025.

According to the governor, his decision to join the party was influenced by its philosophy. He said, “Since joining the party, I have been inspired by its philosophy.”

Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of the people of Osun State, highlighting several programmes and policies his administration has implemented to improve the people's well-being. “We have implemented programmes and policies to improve their lives, from infrastructure to social services,” he stated.

He also emphasised the need for continuity in governance, referencing the mandate given to him by the electorate in 2022. “Osun voted for good governance in 2022 and will support continuity in 2026. The people will stand for continuity, and Accord is our party for victory next year,” he said.

Recall that the governor defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on November 4, 2025. His resignation was formally acknowledged on December 1, 2025, after which Adebayo Adedamola emerged as the PDP’s flagbearer following the party’s primary election.
